How it started

Like many farms, Canyon Creek Mushrooms started out small... very small.  Our first farm in the summer of 2019 was literally a one-room operation in a spare bedroom.  Our goal was simple... to grow fresh mushrooms for family and friends, and to have fun doing it.

We were blessed with some early success, and as word spread about our fresh mushrooms, the requests soon exceeded our space to grow them.  It was at that moment, in the fall of 2019, that Canyon Creek Mushrooms was born.

We built our first fruiting room in our garage, added an incubation room shortly afterwards, and finished up 2019 with a lab.  Next thing we knew, we're a commercial mushroom farm!

Where we're at now

Throughout 2020 our farm grew at a manageable pace.  We joined many of area farmers markets and began regular deliveries to many local restaurants.  Some restaurants went so far as to add us by name to their menus, for which we will be forever grateful.

As 2021 rolled around, Canyon Creek Mushrooms reached a crossroads as our garage-based farm once again reached capacity.  We decided to expand the farm a second time, but this time into a new building.  After a long and exhaustive search, our present farm location in Palm Desert became our new home.

At 4500 square feet, the new farm is a full 5 times bigger than the garage farm.  It took the better part of a year to get it finished, but we're up and running, our storefront is open, and we have a great team working hard every day to produce fresh, gourmet mushrooms.  We're the Coachella Valley's only commercial mushroom farm.  Come check us out!
